We know,
60 min = 1 h

As per the given statement, car A falls 4 yd behind car B every 15 minutes.

Number of yd car A loses in 1 min =415 yd

Number of yd car A loses in 60 min =60 × Number of yd car A loses in 1 min
Number of yd car A loses in 60 min
=(60×415) yd

=60×415 yd

=24015 yd (60×4=240)

Now, 240÷15 can be evaluated as:



240÷15=16 R 0

Hence, car A would lose 16 yards after an hour.
