Solution

Given In shop X pure ghee=30 tin In shop Y pure ghee=50 tin

Adultered ghee=40 Adultered ghee=60

P(A/B)=P(B/A)(A)P(B)

A the tin is purchased from shop B

B the tin is adultered

P(B/A)=probability of the tin from shop 'B' being adultered

P(B/A)=6060+50=60110=611

P(A)= Probability that the tin is from shop B

P(A)=(50+60)(50+60)+(30+40)=110180=1118

P(B)= probability that the tin is adultered

P(B)=(60+40)(50+60)+(30+40)=100180=1018

P(A/B)= probability that the tin is from shop B given it is adultered

=P(B/A)(P(A))P(B)=611×1118(1018)=610=35

probability that the adultered tin is from shop B is 35.
