In a simple circuit containing a cell, an ammeter, aclosed key and a nichrome wire of length 'l', what changes (if any) would be observed in ammeter reading, if the nichrome wire is replaced by a silver wire of length 'l' and same thickness?

Solution
An ammeter is a device used to measure current in a circuit. On replacing nichrome with silver the resistance decreases {silver is a better conductor of electricity than nichrome and has a lower resistance} The amount of current flowing through the circuit increases and the reading in the ammeter also increases.
