Question

In a triangle ABC, B = 28° andC = 56°. Find the largest and the smallest sides.

Open in App
Solution

Given: B = 28° and C = 56°

To find: Longest and shortest sides

∠A + B + C = 180° (Sum of the angles of a triangle)

∠A + 28° + 56° = 180°

∠A = 180° 84°

∠A = 96°

We know that in a triangle, the side opposite to the smallest angle is the shortest and the side opposite to the largest angle is the longest.

∴ Shortest side = AC, Longest side = BC
