In a video, they have told that sound waves are not always longitudinal, they can be transverse also. But, they didn't give an example.
In my school, when I tried to tell my teacher the same thing, she said that "Sound waves are always longitudinal. "
So, who is correct? Please justify.

Inside a solid, sound is longitudinal. However, at the surface of a solid, sound is transverse. The surface is a like a membrane, its oscillations can only be transverse. In a fluid like air, sound waves are only longitudinal
