In an election between two candidates, 75% of the voters cast their votes, out of which 2% of the votes were declared invalid. A candidate got 9261 votes which were 75% of the total valid votes. Find the total number of enrolled voters.
16800
Let the total number of voters enrolled be x.
Number of votes cast = 75% of x
Since 2% of casted votes are valid, so the total valid vote will be 98% of the casted vote i.e.
Valid votes = 98% of 75% of x
Now, it is given that 9261 is the 75% of valid casted votes so,
75% of 98% of 75% of x = 9261
⇒75×98×75100×100×100×x=9261
⇒x=9261×100×100×10075×98×75
∴x=16800
Therefore, the total number of voters enrolled are 16800.
