Equivalent resistance for resistors connected in series, R=R1+R2=2+4=6 Ω
Voltage, V=6 V
Current, I=VR=66=1 A
Current flowing through the resistors are same.
Heat dissipated by the 4 Ω resistor in 5 s is given by,
Heat=I2Rt=(1)2×4×5=20 J
