$\therefore$ Marks required for 1st division = 468 + 12 = 480

As per the question, first division mark is 60% of the total.

Suppose if $x$ is the total marks of the examination, then

$\frac{60}{100}\times x=480$

$\Rightarrow x=\frac{480\times 100}{60}=800$

$\therefore$ Total marks in the examination = 800
