(A)Since object does not moves tension through the rod remains same and stress=T/A will reman uniform.Stress is clearly compressive.
A->1,3
(B)Similarly as above only the stress is tensile.
B->1,4
(C)Since object is being pulled therefore, tension along the rod decreses therefore, stress=T/A is not uniform.
C->2,4
(D)Since, object is being pushed tension will be uniform therefore, stress will be uniform.
D->1,4
