From midpoint theorem DE is parallel to BC.
(iii) Area of Δ BEC and Δ BDC are equal.
(Δ's on the same base(BC) and between the same parallels(DE, BC))
(iv) area Δ BDE = area Δ CED
(Δ's on the same base(DE) and between the same parallels(DE, BC))
∴ area Δ DOB + area Δ DOE=area ΔDOE + area Δ EOC
∴ area Δ DOB = area Δ EOC
