Solution

The correct option is A gastrulation
Archenteron is the primitive gut (archi – primitive; enteron – cavity) of an embryo at the gastrula stage. Hence option a is correct.

After fertilisation the unicellular zygote undergoes the following stages of development :
  • Cleavage – Repeated divisions of the zygote to form numerous small cells called morula.
  • Blastulation – Formation of blastocyst. The morula undergoes repeated divisions to form the blastula. It is a hollow sphere of cells (blastomeres) surrounding an inner fluid-filled cavity (the blastocoel).
  • Implantation- Attachment of the blastocyst to the inner wall of the uterus.
  • Gastrulation – Formation of the germ layers like endoderm, mesoderm and ectoderm.
  • Neurulation – Formation of the neural tube, followed by the development of organs.
