Question

in nucleus of a Eukaryotic cell how many fragments of DNA are present in interphase?

Open in App
Solution

Dear Student,

The genome of a eukaryotic cell is composed of multiple chromosomes and each chromosome contain a linear DNA molecule. During interphase, the DNA present in the cell is replicated or duplicated. This means that during interphase, there is a formation of two copies of each chromosome.

If the cell is haploid (n), after interphase it becomes diploid (2n) and then undergoes the process of cell division.
