Solution

The correct option is C 80 cm2
Given : ABCD is a rectangle
AB = 12 cm, BC = 10 cm
DE = 2 cm, BF = 5 cm

Area of rectangle = length×breadth
Area of rectangle ABCD = AB×BC
= 12×10 = 120 cm2

Area of triangle = 12×base×height
Area of ABF = 12×AB×BF
= 12×12×5 = 6×5 = 30 cm2

Area of ADE = 12×DE×AD
= 12×10×2 = 5×2 = 10 cm2

Area of shaded region = area of rectangle ABCD - Area of ABF - Area of ADE
= 120 - 30 - 10 = 80 cm2
