In the fountain experiment to demonstrate the high solubility of HCl gas in water, dry HCl gas is filled in the round bottomed flask. Give reasons

When the syringe is pushed, water enters the inverted round bottomed flask containing ammonia gas. The gas is highly soluble ,thus it dissolves immediately in it and reduces the pressure in the flask. The shape is round bottomed to assist in decreasing the pressure and help in dissolution.
