In the given figure a circle of radius $7cm$ is inscribed in a square, find the remaining area of the square.

$\because$ Circle is inscribed square

$\therefore$ Diameter of circle $=$ side od square

$=2\times 7=14cm$

Are of circle $=\pi r^2=\frac{22}{7}\times 7\times 7=154sq.cm$

Are of square $=14\times 14=196sq.cm$

$\therefore$ Area of remaining portion $=(196-154)sq.cm$

$=42sq.cm$
