The correct option is B 36 cm2
Area of parallelogram ABCD = base × height
=12×6
=72cm2
If a triangle and a parallelogram are on the same base and between the same parallels, then the area of the triangle is equal to half the area of the parallelogram.

Area of BEC=12 (Area of ABCD)

Now, BEC=12×72 cm2

Area of BEC=36 cm2
