The correct option is D 8 cm and 8 cm
Given that AB = 13 , AC = 14 and BC = 16 .
Let BD = x cm and DC = y cm.Using Ceva’s theorem, we have,
AFFB×CEEA×BDDC=1 ... (1)
Substitute the values of AFFB=45 and CEEA=108 in (1),
we have, 45×108×xy=1
xy×11=1
Hence, x = y ... (2)
BC = BD + DC = 16 so, x + y = 16 ... (3)
From (2), using x = y in (3),
we get, y + y = 16
2y = 16 then y = 8
Substitute y = 8 in (3) we get, x = 8 . Hence BD = 8 cm , DC = 8 cm.
