Solution

The correct option is C (a) 13:5 (b) 4:21 (c) 13:35
(a) Area of Africa = 26 sq. units
Area of Europe = 10 sq. units
Ratio=Area of AfricaArea of Europe
=2610=135 or 13:5

Hence, area of Africa to Europe is in the ratio 13 : 5.
(b) Area of Australia = 8 sq. units
Area of Asia = 42 sq. units
Ratio=Area of AustraliaArea of Asia
=842=421 or 4:21

Hence, ratio of the area of Australia to Asia is 4 : 21.
(c) Area of Antarctica = 13 sq. units
Area of North America = 17 sq. units
Area of South America = 18 sq. units
Combined area of North and South America
= 17 + 18 = 35 sq.units
Ratio=Area of AntarcticaCombined area of North and South America
=1335 or 13:35

Hence, ratio of area of Antarctica to combined are of North and South America is 13 : 35.
