In the precipitation of sulphides of second group of basic radiacals, H2S passed into the acidified solution with dilute HCl. If the solution is not acidified, then which is the correct statement ?
Sulphides of both the groups get precipitated
In the absence of dilute HCl, ionization of H2S is not suppressed due to common ion effect. As a result, [S2−] increases to such an extent that fourth group sulphides having higher KSP values also get precipitated.
