Question

In triangle ABC, right angled at B, if A is made smaller and smaller till it becomes zero, what can you say about BC and AC if AB = 1 unit

  1. 1,1

  2. 0,1

  3. 1,0

  4. 0,0

Solution

The correct option is B

0,1

A gets smaller and smaller, the length of the side BC decreases. The point C gets closer to point B and finally A becomes very close to zero. AC becomes almost the same as AB.

When A is very close to 0, AC is nearly the same as AB and BC tends to achieve value zero . Therefore, AC achieves value of 1 and BC becomes 0.
