  1. In this type of inheritance, the mutated traits appear in a heterozygous condition in both sexes.
  2. If any one of the parents is affected, then the child may be affected too.
  3. This trait appears in horizontal and vertical lines of pedigree as well.
  4. Such diseases do not skip generations.
  5. For instance, Huntington's disease is an autosomal dominant trait.
