Question

In which female reproductive organ does the embryo get embedded and why?

Open in App
Solution

The embryo gets embedded in the uterus because of the presence of the uterine wall. This wall then develops into placenta which becomes the source of nutrition and exchange of gases and waste materials between the body of the mother as well as the foetus. This provides all the necessary conditions for the growth of the embryo into a healthy foetus.
