Solution

Iron:

  1. It is a macronutrient that is needed in large amounts for plant growth.
  2. Plants obtain it in the form of Ferric(Fe+3) ions.
  3. It is required for the synthesis of chlorophyll.
  4. It also affects carotenoid formation.
  5. It also takes part in the composition of cytochromes and ferredoxin compounds which take part in the electron transport system.
  6. Its deficiency causes chlorosis in younger leaves, inhibits chloroplast formation, and also develops necrosis.
