1) Smaller number per cell but larger size and definite shape of the chloroplasts.
2) Presence of pyrenoids. The pyrenoids are characteristics of cells of green algae only.
3) The pyrenoids of Anthoceros and green algae function similarly and form starch grains at their periphery.
4) Simple green, dorsoventrally flattened thallus like plant body and its branching.
5) Biflagellate sperms with both flagella of whiplash type.
