Solution
The correct option is B Bryophyta The biflagellated antherozoids of Bryophytes swim in the film of water and reach to the neck of an archegonium and ultimately approaches the egg. The antherozoid penetrates the egg and fertilization is effected. With the result of fertilization the zygote (2n) is formed, which begins to develop into a multicellular embryo and ultimately the sporangium (sporophyte) develops. The spore mother cells are produced within the sporangium. They are diploid (2n), and represents the last stage of the sporophyte generation.
