Solution

Dear Student,
Ranch is a huge area of land which is used for raising animals like horses, bison, emu etc. The ranch may also engage in a limited amount of farming for raising crops for feeding the animals, such as hay and feed grains and so ranches need extensive amount of area. Thus it needs large plain areas for the animal to graze.
Ranching is common in dry, temperate areas, such as in the US, North Dakota, South Dakota,Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma and some parts of Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and western and southern Minnesota.
