Solution
The correct option is B 1966-1967
There were two consecutive droughts in the country in the mid-1960s which resulted in a shortage of food supply and subsequent food crisis. This resulted in the import of food grains from other countries and with this was bought the Green Revolution. The new variety of HYV ( High Yielding Variety) of seeds was introduced which resulted in the boost of crop production in the country. Wheat seeds came from Mexico and that of rice came from the Philippines. These new HYV seeds were introduced along with the chemical fertilizers in the irrigated fields of Punjab, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, and Gujarat.
