• Religious diversity: India is a secular country where all religions are given equal treatment and people of all religions live together in harmony.
• Linguistic diversity: India is well known for its linguistic diversity. As per Census 2001, there are 122 major languages and 1599 other languages in India.
• Diversity in festivals celebrated: People of every religion and community celebrate different festivals based on their cultural identity.
• For example: Pongal, Makar Sankranti and Uttarayan are celebrated across India on the same day but with different rituals.
• Diversity in food habits: Diversity in food habits is one of India’s treasures. Every region in India offers their own traditional dishes, each of which is unique in their own way.
