It is true that Indian history has evolved over a period of time.History is basically a study of the changing nature of society.The history of India is categorised as ancient, mediaeval and modern. Ancient period in history was different from mediaeval and modern. Ancient period revolved round ancient Indian culture, tradition, way of ruling, living style etc. All this could be depicted in the Rig Veda and later periods.

Medieval period started with the entry of the Turks in India. They brought along with them their distinct culture, food habits, way of living . They set up an empire in India which brought profound changes.

The establishment of British rule in India marked the beginning of modern era with new political, social and economic ideas.
