Solution

The correct option is D VAVB
Before grounding:
Suppose charge on A is qA and B is qB.

So, VA=kqArA+kqBrB

VB=kqArB+kqBrB

Now, potential difference of shell is given by

VAVB=kqA[1rA1rB]

We can see that potential difference (VAVB) depends only on charge at A (i.e. qA).

After Grounding:
When sphere B is grounded, charge on A remains the same, therefore, potential difference remain the same.

Let VA and VB be the new potential.

Then, VAVB = VAVB

VB=0 B is grounded

VA=VAVB
Why this question ?

Concept - sphere A is isolated, therefore, grounding sphere B will not change the charge on A.
