Solution

In standard form of a number we put decimal after first digit and remaining power is written as power of 10
So,
Using law of exponents am×an=am+n
Scientific notation of distance from Sun to
Earth =149600000=1496×105=1.496×108 km

Jupiter =778300000=7783×105=7.783×108 km

Mars =227900000=2279×105=2.279×108km

Mercury =57900000=579×105=5.97×107 km

Neptune =449700000=4497×105=4.497×109 km

Pluto =5900000000=59×108=5.9×109 km

Saturn =1427000000=1427×106=1.427×109 km

Uranus =2870000000=287×107=2.87×109 km

Venus =108200000=1082×105=1.082×108 km

So, comparing distances in standard notation form, we get
Order of planet from closest to the Sun to Farthest from the sun is given by
Mercury < Venus < Earth < Mars < Jupiter < Saturn < Uranus < Neptune < Pluto
