Blood groups:

  1. The blood group is inherited by the offspring from parents.
  2. In the ABO blood group system, codominance exists.
  3. Gene I controls ABO blood groups.
  4. The plasma membrane of the RBCs has sugar polymers protruding from the surface which is determined by gene I.
  5. Out of the three alleles of gene I - IA, IB, i - IA, and IB are equally dominant over each other.
  6. When both are present, both are expressed.
  7. i gene is only expressed when A and B are absent.
