Solution

Ribosome:

  1. They are non-membranous cell organelles that are sub-spherical in shape.
  2. Ribosomes are large nucleoproteins that consist of both RNAs and r-proteins.
  3. It translates genetic information stored in messenger RNA into polypeptides.
  4. They consist of two subunits of unequal size known as large and small subunits.
  5. The cytosolic ribosomes are of 80S type and the organellar ribosomes are similar to the bacterial 70S ribosomes.
