Question

Is tap water...hard water or soft water?

Open in App
Solution

The tap water is hard water or soft water depends on the level of water contamination in your locality. In many rural places the water is not that much contaminated. There is less percentage of calcium or magnesium ions in rural water. So it will be soft. But in places near to industries or in places near to seashore the level of calcium in water will raise and the water will be hard water. Using more and more fertilizer and excess use of calcium products in industries increases the level of calcium and magnesium in drinking water.
