Vasoconstrictor:

  1. Vasoconstrictors are chemicals or drugs which help in narrowing the blood vessels.
  2. This is done by the small muscles in the walls of the blood vessels.
  3. When blood vessels are constricted, the flow of blood is slowed.
  4. Examples of vasoconstrictors are nicotine, caffeine, antihistamines, and amphetamines.

Tea as a vasoconstrictor:

  1. Certain types of tea contain caffeine which is a vasoconstrictor.
  2. However, the amount of caffeine in such teas is minimal hence the effect is not much.
  3. High amounts of caffeine in teas can be considered vasoconstrictors.
