Total copies to be made $=z$

Cost of first 1000 copies $=1000x$

Now remaing copies has to be made $=z-1000$

Cost of remaining copies $=y\times (z-1000)$

Total cost $=1000x+y\times (z-1000)$

$=1000(x-y)+yz$
