It is necessary to ban the use of chemical pesticides to protect the environment because :
(1) pesticide containing phosphorus accumulate algae in the water bodies and kill fish because of insufficient oxygen supply.
(2) pesticides containing nitrates and phosphates can contaminate water making it unfit for drinking
(3) oxidised nitrogen, a by-product of pesticides, increases smog, resulting in higher chances of respiratory illness and asthma.
(4) frogs and fish play major role in the control of mosquitoes. The excessive use of pesticides has resulted in the extinction of many frog and fish species.
