Solution

Given:
Total weight of all the cereal boxes
= 16 kg 800 g
Weight of one cereal box = 420 g

Number of cereal boxes bought
=Total weight of all the cereal boxesWeight of one cereal box
=16 kg 800 g420 g

Let us convert 16 kg 800 g to g before performing the division.

We know:
1 kg = 1000 g
16 kg=16×1000=16000 g

16 kg 800 g = 16000 g + 800 g
= 16800 g
Number of cereal boxes=16800420

Thus, 40 cereal boxes were bought.
