Let us consider a Cartesian plane thinking positive X-axis as East;negative one as West;positive Y-axis as North;negative as South, Jatin walks along positive Y axis 12 Km;after that parallel to X axis he walks 12 Km.After that immediately he walks parallel to Y axis towards negative direction 12 Km.Finally he moves 5 Km towards positive X direction on X axis.Hence he will be at a distance of 17 Km from the origin that is from starting place.
