As per the given information, we can draw the following figure, which is a right angled triangle at B.
Distance from starting point to the final position is the hypotenuse of right angled ΔABC,
i.e. AC2=AB2+BC2 [by Pythagoras theorem] ⇒(6)2+(8)2=(Distance)2 [∵ AC = distance] ⇒36+64=(Distance)2 ∴ Distance =√100=10km
