Amount of pizza given to his sister $=\frac{1}{6}$

So, total pizza ate by John and his sister $=\frac{2}{3}+\frac{1}{6}=\frac{12+3}{18}=\frac{15}{18}=\frac{5}{6}$

Therefore, amount of pizza left with John

$=1-\frac{5}{6}=\frac{6}{6}-\frac{5}{6}=\frac{1}{6}$
