Gandhara in north-west Pakistan became famous for Buddhist art that combined Greek and Indian features.
This came to be known as Gandhara art.
Mathura also became a centre of art.
Numerous beautiful sculptures were created in Mathura during the period of the Kushanas.
The worship of statues of Buddha was permitted during the time of Kanishka.
