Lack of this vitamin causes delayed clotting of blood

Open in App
Solution

Clotting:

  1. It is the process of solidifying the blood around the wound so that blood loss can be restricted.
  2. It is done by agents present in the blood called platelets which form a mesh-like structure on the cut and does not allow the blood to pass through.
  3. Vitamin K deficiency leads to haemorrhage in infants where the clot formation does not happen or is delayed.
