1. Maintaining the health and sanitation (garbage collection, fire brigades, vaccination, etc.)

2. Constructing local infrastructure (hospitals, schools, community centres, etc.)

3. Registering the births and deaths in the city

4. Making and implementing the developmental plans for the city
