Cerebellum- The cerebellum is a region lying at the back of the head under the cerebrum. Its functions are:

  1. The cerebellum coordinates impulses sent out from the cerebrum.
  2. It mainly controls posture and balance.
  3. It coordinates the muscles during locomotion.

Medulla oblongata- It is the lowermost part of the brain located at the base of the skull and continues up to the spinal cord. Its functions are:

  1. It controls various involuntary actions.
  2. Controls breathing
  3. Controls blood pressure.
  4. It controls heartbeat, coughing and sneezing.
