Question

List the key factors responsible for agricultural growth

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
The key factors responsible for agricultural growth are described below-
  1. Climate: Temperature and precipitation determine the growth of vegetation as well as crops. In the lower altitude, we observe high insolation as well as a high amount of precipitation which leads to more vegetation and cultivation than the higher altitude areas. Plants in the temperate region require less moisture than the tropical and subtropical areas.
  2. Topography and soil: Agriculture depends on the relief because if the slope of the land is moderate then the soil can be formed and hence can give rise to agricultural practices than the high slope areas.
  3. Innovative techniques: Where the technology is advanced, agricultural growth is observed because the use of HYV seeds, irrigation facilities, use of pesticides, machines etc. will be more.
