1. Any substance that exhibits uniformity in its composition and properties throughout its mass is known as a homogeneous substance. 1. Any substance that does not exhibit uniformity in its composition and properties throughout its mass is known as a heterogeneous matter.
2. Homogeneous matter can be further divided into two parts i.e., pure substances (consisting of only one type of particles) and homogeneous mixtures (consisting of two or more type of particles).2. Heterogeneous substances only consist of heterogeneous mixtures.
3. Examples: Elements like Copper (Cu), Compounds like Water (H2O) etc.3. Example: Muddy water, Sand and Iron (Fe) nails combined together.
