From the figure,
$A D = A B + B C + C D$

Here, $A D$ is also part of $A H$
i.e, $A H = A B + B C + C D + D E + E F + F G + G H$
$= A D + D E + E F + F G + G H$

According to Euclid's axiom,
$A H > A D$

$∴$ length of $A H >$ sum of length of $A B + B C + C D$
