  1. The above picture is of the ruin of Nalanda university.
  2. This university originally was set up by Sakraditya in the 5th Century CE for the purpose of education.
  3. This building was built for the purpose of education. This was an important learning center during the Gupta period. It was the first residential university with 1,500 teachers and 2,000 students. The teachers came from across the world. There were three libraries Ratnasagar, Ratnavali, and Ratnaranjak.
