Solution

Secondary lymphoid organs:

The secondary lymphoid organs are sites where the B and T lymphocytes encounter antigens and differentiate into effector cells. Spleen, tonsils, lymph nodes, and Peyer's patches are all examples of secondary lymphoid organs.

Role of lymph node in immune response:

Lymph nodes are small nodule-like structures present along the entire length of the lymphatic vessels.

These filter out the microbes present in the lymph and the tissue fluids.

The lymphocytes present in the lymph nodes interact with these foreign microbes causing an immune response destroying them.
